THE
Falkland Islands Tourist Board has announced plans to open a London office next
year.
The tourism board is also
planning to recruit a director of international communications to lead
promotion and marketing of the islands in the UK, US and emerging markets.
Says the board’s managing
director, Tony Mason: ‘Having a strong base in the United Kingdom and
continuing to develop partnerships in the United States and with emerging
markets will ensure the message gets out that the Falkland Islands are truly
the most beautiful and unspoilt nature and wildlife offering in the world.’
UK visitor arrivals are
expected to reach 3,000 this year, up 20% on 2013.
