Harbourside hide-away

BEACHSPOKE has added to its portfolio of Cornish holiday cottages being marketed specifically as ‘romantic get-aways for couples’.

Harbour Moon in Mousehole – the agency’s first property outside St Ives – has been designed by its owners as an “indulgent, architecturally-adventurous” hideaway inspired by the village’s harbour.

The original fisherman’s cottage has been stripped back to expose its natural fabric. Features include a wood-burning stove, rough granite and Cornish shrimper-coloured lime-rendered walls, and worn wooden planks. A glass floor in front of the bedroom window allows guests to watch the tide roll in and out from anywhere in the room.

It sleeps two, from £890 a week - www.beachspoke.com
