UK government supports Gatwick-Newquay flights; funding deal approved for four years
A FOUR-YEAR funding deal has been agreed by the UK’s Department of Transport to maintain flights between Newquay in Cornwall and London Gatwick.
The government is to provide £2.5 million for the air link, with a further £300,000 coming from Cornwall County Council.
Flybe will operate three times a day during the week and twice daily at weekends.
The state money has come from the Regional Air Connectivity Fund which in June secured a two-year deal for flights between Stansted and Dundee.
