THE RESTORATION of a major part of #Malta’s Fort St Angelo – re-built in the 16th and 17th centuries – has been completed, just in time for it to be used as the venue for the 2015 Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting at the end of November.
The fort, on Valletta’s Grand Harbour, will be open to tourists after the meeting of 53 Commonwealth prime ministers and presidents.
The €14.5 million (£10.35 million) restoration project – funded in the main by the European Union – began in 2007.
