Fast train to the Alps

ACCESS to France’s #SouthernAlps and the five lift-linked ski villages that comprise the Alpe d'Huez grand domaine #Ski (Auris en Oisans, Alpe d'Huez, Oz en Oisans, Vaujany, and Villard Reculas) has been easier following the introduction of the direct Eurostar service from London to Lyon.

Auris en Oisans has had a make-over for this season with the introduction of a high-end, 98-apartment accommodation complex, a re-profiled beginners' area, more snowmaking facilities, and new beginners lifts to make accessing the slopes even easier for novices.

Also new for winter 2015-16 are beginner-specific lift passes available in Alpe d'Huez, Villard Reculas, and Auris en Oisans enabling low-cost access to a range of progressive slopes.

A 3* tourist residence comprising 80 apartments ranging from studios to three-piece suites has been built in Vaujany. It has an indoor swimming pool, spa, and gym.

The London-Lyon Eurostar service is available on Saturdays in the winter season (November-March) and takes just 4hrs/41 minutes. Fares start from £89 return.
