FOREIGN tourist arrivals on Gozo last year increased by 11.7 percent on the 2012 total. The figure relates only to hotels and guesthouses on the island; they do not include the number of visitors staying in self-catering apartments and villas.

While acknowledging that the 2013 figure augurs well for better prospects for the island’s tourist industry, the Gozo Tourism Association believes that more has to be done to maintain these results, especially during the winter season.
