Growing demand for homeland holidays

As Britain’s economy begins to recover – it says here! – people are rewarding themselves with staycation holidays that take in the very best of British. Last summer saw 41 million people opt for a homeland holiday, sampling the hills of Yorkshire, the coastal delights of Devon and the old towns and big cities in between. One staycation provider, West Country Holidays, reports that the trend has continued in 2014, with record-breaking sales and many more people booking their stay-at-home holiday for this summer.

Michael Perry, Managing Director of West Country Holidays, said: ‘We have seen soaring numbers of people treating themselves as the economy begins to show strong signs of recovery. Many people have more money in the bank this year compared with the last few summers, but rather than splash it all on a foreign holiday, they’re opting for budget-friendly staycations where they can get their dose of sunshine, spend time with family and see some of the most beautiful sights their home country has to offer.’

West Country Holidays offers self-catering accommodation at holiday parks and cottages - westcountryhols.co.uk.
