A weekend of entertainment and activities for all
the family featuring music from the 1940s, arena displays and parades, military
vehicle exhibitors and displays, a 1940s vintage market, archive and war film
screenings, talks by local veterans, homefront displays, photographic
exhibitions, and street theatre performances.
Veterans Centre,
Southsea Common, June 3 to June 8 … A
Veterans Centre will be open for D-Day veterans, and veterans of subsequent
conflicts will also be welcome to visit. This will provide a focal point for veterans
and their families to congregate during the commemorations. The centre will provide an opportunity for veterans
to meet up with comrades, register their contact details to try to put them in
touch with comrades and friends, and have a souvenir photograph taken.
