TREBERFEDD
FARM in Ceredigion, West Wales, has been selected as a winner in this year’s Soil
Association Organic awards.
The farm’s holiday cottages and hobbit houses were
winners in the ‘best organic places to stay’ category.
Guests at
the farm – which produces organic beef and lamb – can stay in a 17th
century farmhouse, converted barns, or two luxury Hobbit houses in the farm’s
organic meadows.
A farm trail,
free range hens, playground, woodlands and home-produced renewable electricity
and firewood give guests an organic country experience.
Treberfedd
also has a conference venue which provides organic catering to groups and
businesses.
The judges
said: ‘The prize for innovation goes to Treberfedd Farm for its new Hobbit
houses. Organic credentials are a given here with a clear vision and attention
to detail. A fantastic organic place to stay.’
