THE Turkish
government has published new passport rules for foreigners entering the
country.
Passports must be
valid for at least 60 days from the date of expiry of a traveller's visa, visa exemption
period or residency permit to be able to enter the country before December 31,
2014. For example, a traveller leaving Turkey on August 20 should hold a
passport that is valid until at least October 20, 2014.
As from January 1,
2015, passports must be valid for at least 60 days from the date of expiry of a
traveller's visa, visa exemption period or residency permit to be able to enter
the country. A traveller with a visa expiry date of May 20, 2015 must hold a
passport that is valid until at least July 20, 2015.
Travellers without
the required period of validity on passports will not be allowed entry into
Turkey.
