THE visitor complex at the Kennedy space centre
in Florida offers a full-day experience with many attractions and year-round
interactive programmes, including the new Atlantis Space Shuttle and meeting astronauts.
‘The visitor complex is an absolute must-see
destination, and in 2014 our guests will find more to enjoy and experience than
ever before,’ says Therrin Protze, chief operating officer at the complex. ‘We’re
thrilled to celebrate the new home of the inspirational Atlantis. The $100
million attraction takes guests on an emotional journey of discovery unlike any
other.’
More than 60 educational touch-screen
experiences and high-tech simulators invite guests of all ages and all interest
levels – from students to space geeks – to “be the astronaut,” bringing to life
the people, passion and patriotism behind NASA’s 30-year space shuttle program,
as well as the complexity of the engineering marvel that launched the Hubble
Space Telescope and built the International Space Station.
The KSC Up-Close Explore Tour gives an insider’s
view of the US space programme from the launch sites of today at Cape Canaveral
to the past and future of space exploration at Kennedy Space Center. Try: www.KennedySpaceCenter.com
The tour
includes up-close views of the 525-foot-high vehicle assembly building – one of
the largest structures in the world – and the shuttle landing facility.
