Dinosaurs Unleashed at the Eden Project

A JOURNEY 67 million years back in time to the lost world of dinosaurs awaits visitors to the Eden Project in Cornwall this summer.

This drawing shows the possible appearance of Avaceratops, a dinosaur from the late Cretaceous Period. The first fossil remains of Avaceratops were found in 1981 in Montana, USA. Like other Ceratopsian dinosaurs, Avaceratops was a herbivore (plant eater).

Dinosaurs Unleashed, which runs from July 21, will turn visitors into true explorers as they track down and discover the giant beasts that once roamed the planet.

Dr Jo Elworthy, Eden's Director of Interpretation, says: ‘This will be the biggest, most compelling summer activity Eden has ever staged. As well as immersing you into the Cretaceous world to give you a close encounter with some incredibly realistic dinosaurs, you can become a dino detective and learn how scientists worked out how these animals looked, what they ate, where and when they lived, how they moved and even how they smelt and saw.

‘As a living reminder of the lost world of dinosaurs, you will be able to meet some of the plants that were around then and which are still thriving today. See more about it at
