When the world changed forever

A MAJOR exhibition marking the 100th anniversary of the start of WW1 has opened at York Castle Museum. 1914 - When The World Changed Forever – which runs until December 2018is the culmination of three years’ research and a £1.7 million investment, mostly from Heritage Lottery Fund money.



Says Alison Bodley, senior curator of history at York Museums Trust: ‘The exhibition explains what it was like in the trenches, what it was like to be left at home – and how the world changed forever.’
